I begin with a circular canvas. This gets a minimum of 3 coats of acrylic paint for the perfect base. From the centre I use a compass to create a series of circles (no particular size just whatever i fancy!) I then section the canvas with equally measured lines from the centre to the outer edge. What follows is hours of dotting, patterns and layers. If you look closely you will see the first white layer, followed by a smaller black layer on the top. Finished with an even smaller top layer in white. The dots start at only 1mm so by the third layer you can imagine how intricate the work is! The finished piece can take between 100-150 hours to create. It is then varished with a UV protectant. Then ready to frame…
